"We are thrilled to announce the 12 Semifinalists who have been selected to compete in the 28th New Orleans International Piano Competition. Chosen solely based on their artistry with no known information beyond their audition performances, these pianists rose to the top out of over 200 exceptional applicants from 30 different countries.
During the application period in March, we issued a statement in response to the war in Ukraine - '...In order to best be able to serve and welcome those who share our commitment and belief - that music has and always will be a power that unified the world in beauty and peace...' - and therefore we have decided for now to present our Semifinalists as artists representing themselves and not their particular countries. {read the full statement here}
