NOPI Schedule

The New Orleans Piano Institute will take place July 21-29, 2018.
This year's NOPI runs concurrently with the 27th New Orleans International Piano Competition (NOIPC) and Keyboard Festival to which NOPI students will also attend.

SATURDAY, July 21

  •  3:30 PM: NOPI Student Orientation (for students only)

SUNDAY, July 22 

  • 1:15 PM: Master Class I - Frank Heneghan
  • 4:00 PM: Guest Artist Recital featuring Alexandre Moutouzkine and Chlo√© Kiffer

MONDAY, July 23 

  • 10:45 AM: Master Class II - Igor Resnianski
  • 2:45 PM: Master Class III - Kevin Chance
  • 7:00 PM: NOIPC Semifinal Round 1, Day 1

TUESDAY, July 24

  • 10:45 AM: Master Class IV - Shearon Horton
  • 2:45 PM: Master Class V  - Alan Chow
  • 7:00 PM: NOIPC Semifinal Round 1, Day 2

WEDNESDAY, July 25

  • 11:00 AM: Presentation by Dr. Jennifer Hayghe
  • 2:45 PM: Master Class VI - Nancy Weems
  • 7:00 PM: NOIPC Semifinal Round 1, Day 3

THURSDAY, July 26

  • 9:00 AM: NOPI Concerto Competition Sponsored by Hall Piano Company & the Steinway Society of New Orleans
  • 3:00 PM: Master Class VII - Alexandre Moutouzkine
  • 7:00 PM: NOIPC Semifinal Round 2, Day 1

FRIDAY, July 27

  • 11:00 AM: Presentation A Juror's Perspective
  • 3:00 PM: Master Class VIII - Gregory Sioles
  • 7:00 PM: NOIPC Semifinal Round 2, Day 2

SATURDAY, July 28

  • 10:30 AM: NOPI Student Showcase Recital

SUNDAY, July 29

  • 2:00 PM: NOIPC Final Round
  • 6:30 PM: Institute Ends

All NOPI Events are held in the Loyola Music and Communications building. Orientation, Master Classes and Presentations/Question and Answer Sessions will take place in Room 240. The NOPI Concerto Competition, Showcase Recital, and all New Orleans International Piano Competition rounds will be held in Roussel Hall. NOPI Events are open to the public. The NOPI competition rounds, Showcase Recital and master classes are FREE of charge. The New Orleans Keyboard Festival Guest Artist Recital and New Orleans International Piano Competition rounds are ticketed events.
